Gift Aid
Add 25% to your donation at no extra cost
If you are a UK taxpayer, Gift Aid lets us claim an extra 25p from HMRC for every £1 you give. It costs you nothing, and it makes your donation go further for children.

£10 becomes £12.50
Give £10 with Gift Aid and we receive £12.50, without you paying a penny more.

Gift Aid rules explained
These details are set by HMRC. We have kept them here for reference.
Gift Aid declaration wording
I want to Gift Aid my donation and any donations I make in the future or have made in the past four years to Children in Need Fund. I am a UK taxpayer and understand that if I pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all my donations in that tax year it is my responsibility to pay any difference.
When Gift Aid cannot be claimed
Gift Aid cannot be claimed on donations from companies, on money raised through raffles or ticket sales, on payments for goods from our shop, or where you receive a significant benefit in return for your gift.
Higher-rate taxpayers
If you pay tax above the basic rate, you can claim the difference between the higher rate and the basic rate on your donation through your Self Assessment tax return.
Cancelling your declaration
You can cancel your Gift Aid declaration at any time by emailing info@childreninneed.org.uk. Please also tell us if you change your name or address, or no longer pay enough tax.
Sponsorship money
Gift Aid can be claimed on sponsorship for events such as runs or walks, as long as the sponsor is a UK taxpayer and the money is a gift with no benefit in return.
